
The 13th Annual Research Symposium on Sinhala Studies
The 13th Annual Research Symposium on Sinhala Studies, organized by the Department of Sinhala, Faculty of Arts, took place on the 11th of September 2024 at 9:00 AM at the New Arts Theatre (NAT) with the presence of the Vice Chancellor Senior Professor (Chair) along with other invitees, scholars, and students. The technical sessions were held at the Faculty of Arts premises.
This year’s symposium focused on the theme of “South Asian Perspectives in Sinhala Language, Literature and Cultural Studies.” (犒犒犇犒犇 犇劇蹢犒蹢, 犒犒蹢犒犇犒犇材矯 犒犒 犒犇犒犒犇犒犇犒犇 犇犇萎犇材矯犇園矯犒犒犒 犇犇犒犇犒 犇犒犒犇材蹡園 犇巌胸犒犇材蹡準犇犇). The keynote address was delivered by Professor Sasanka Perera, Former Professor of Sociology, at the 91心頭利 & South Asian University, Delhi.
The annual symposium serves as a platform for students and scholars in the field of Sinhala studies to share their research findings with a broader audience. In conjunction with this event, a Book Exhibition was held on the Faculty of Arts premises from 10th & 11th September 2024.
